J. Herbin 1670 Collection 50ml Ink Bottle - Emeraude de Chivor
The J. Herbin 1670 anniversary ink collection was introduced to commemorate the 340th anniversary of the ink maker. Emeraude de Chivor is one of two inks released in 2001. It is a dark emerald ink with gold shimmer, and is well-known for its deep red sheen.
"Emeraude de Chivor" is named after the Chivor mine in South America, which holds one of the purest emerald deposits in the world. The decorative ink bottle carries a wax seal on the front, adding to its aesthetic appeal and vintage look that celebrates the rich history of J. Herbin.
As with other shimmer inks, be mindful that the glittery particles can restrict ink flow in some pens, especially ones with finer nibs. Good pen maintenance practice will help prevent issues with ink flow when using this ink.
*Our ink swabs are references to the actual ink colour. We have taken a lot of care and effort to ensure these swabs represent the actual colour to their best extent, but colours may vary due to factors such as monitor brightness and colour, nib size and wetness of your pen, and paper used. If you are unsure, we recommend trying an ink sample or chat with us, we are glad to help.
I wasn't sure if I'd be into glitter inks, given that they're usually associated with higher maintenance, but I was able to use this in a piston fill Oliver Exam pen and it flows just fine! The ink has lots of glitter and will sheen red/purple on the right kind of paper (e.g., Tomoe River, Midori). In normal writing, it will look like a very dark green/blue. Glad that I had a chance to try it out in sample size!
Not as exciting as I'd hoped. Quite a dull green/blue, but the glittery shimmer is definitely in there.
