Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop Fountain Pen - Purple Ellipse
The Pilot Metropolitan is a great fountain pen for beginning and experienced fountain pen users alike. Made by Pilot Japan, the quality and workmanship of this pen is exceptional.
▶ A metal barrel construction, which is nice and unusual for a pen at this price point
▶ Smooth steel nib that works great for beginners
▶ Inexpensive and of good quality
▶ Works with cartridges, CON-20 pump converter and CON-40 piston converter
▶ Fun colours to choose from
The pen comes with a black ink cartridge and a pump converter to start you off.
The CON-40 converter is optional and can be purchased separately.
Writes finer compared to European nibs since it is Japanese nib size.
My favourite fountain pen - it never disappoints, is a well designed writing instrument and lovely to look act. Highly recommend.
I bought this pen as a birthday gift for my granddaughter. She loves everything about it-the colour, the weight and the way it writes. I also bought her different coloured inks which she hasn’t tried yet.
The order was delivered on time. I would certainly recommend this company and this product
-metal barrel (not too heavy to hold)
-finer nib (e.g. a fine indeed writes like an extra-fine)
-comes with a pen case and an ink cartridge
-comes with a squeeze converter
I can't find anything wrong with this pen so far. It writes sharp and there's no feedback (unless you're writing really hard or quickly). I haven't cleaned it yet but videos online show that you can take the nib and the feed out. The rubber/plastic squeeze converter seems good quality (it's not transparent). I recommend not purchasing the corresponding screw converter because I believe it holds less ink. Not sure if you can use it as an eyedropper, or carry it with you on the go (the cap doesn't screw on, for example). Perfect as a gift for stationary lovers (especially for those who write using 0.5-0.7mm pens/pencils)
My order also came with a tracking number (with delivery alerts via text), delivered on time, and with a nice "Thank you!" message, handwritten on my invoice. Unfortunately the package wasn't rainproof, but nothing was damaged (thankfully all my items were in resealable plastic sachets, and the Pilot Metropolitan was covered in a plastic sleeve, inside its case).
